Read, Pray, Listen
- Read, ponder, tell me about YOUR day. I welcome your comments and read them all. I only re-post positive, helpful comments.
You have those days when everything feels upside down. So do I. I want one thing, the other thing happens, and no matter how hard I try to be in control, SURPRISE! I'm not. And life feels upside down. On those days I think if only I were in control of the universe everything would be juuuuuust right.
Wait! Who is in control of the universe? (Not me) And what does Jesus say, over and over in the gospels? (Do not worry!) Oh, yeah, who is in control of the universe? (God!) and what is my job? (To give thanks in every circumstance!). Whew. Good thing I got that figured out...today. I am thankful, DEEPLY thankful for every single pledge towards my podcast!
Today I'm reminding myself that God has lots and lots of money! My Kickstarter is half finished but not half funded (yet!). Could the Lord be asking YOU to become a backer? Please consider it. And if you can't be come a backer, please sign up for the daily updates - and you'll know how to pray with me, Caitlin, and Efrain. God bless! Have a RIGHTside up day!
Yesterday my daughter and my grandson were in the tram at the Minneapolis airport and my daughter was chit-chatting with the other man in the tram. He looked like a nice guy, and it turned out he was. He said he was on his way to Winnipeg for a curling match. Then he asked my 3-year-old grandson, "Would you like to see my gold medal?" The friendly man dug in his bag and pulled it out - yep, Olympic gold. He was Tyler George, Duluth native and friendly Minnesotan. Lil Bruiser got to hold the medal. I'd say Mr George knows something about little kids! It was a fun moment for all of them. Sometimes the smallest act of kindness can make someone's day. Maybe you aren't an Olympic Gold Medalist, but I bet you could do something surprisingly kind today! Look for an opportunity.
You can read my conversion story in Patrick Madrid’s book, Surprised by Truth II. It’s a great book, but you’ll notice it was written a long time ago. The other day I got a letter from a guy who had just read my testimony. He asked, How did your two kids turn out? Are they still Catholic? Do they go to Mass every week? Did they marry Catholics?
That’s the first time anyone has asked me that, so I wrote back, Yes, both of my grown children and their spouses are devout and committed Catholics. He wrote right back. “How did you do it?”
How DO you do it? Handing on the Faith is one of the most important things you’ll ever do. Once Hello and Welcome! is fully funded my team and I can get to work answering the question “How do I raise my kids to love God?”
On-demand listening is growing fast. Think Netflix for audio. There are podcasts about fly-fishing, home improvement, and how to speak Klingon. My goal is to produce a consistently professional and engaging podcast that will lead people to Jesus Christ and continually attract new listeners. Join the growing team of backers!
