Read, Pray, Listen
- Read, ponder, tell me about YOUR day. I welcome your comments and read them all. I only re-post positive, helpful comments.
Today is my 57th birthday. That's me in the middle, between my brother Ben and my sister Lucy. Mom was 41 when I was born and my little sister Linda came a couple of years later. I cannot count the times I have been grateful that my parents didn't think they were too old to have more children, or that "two is enough." They didn't worry that my older siblings would feel replaced. When I was born there were four people waiting around to meet me and love me. Not a bad deal.
This is one of the oldest paintings of Jesus. It was found inside a catacomb - a meeting place where Christians in Roman times could be safe. Here you can see that Jesus is picture as the Good Shepherd. He has a lamb on his shoulders and is carrying water for the other sheep. Jesus takes care of his sheep!
In today's episode of Mercy Unwrapped, my friend Lani Bogart talks about how Jesus has been the Good Shepherd in her life. Lani was raised in a Christian home and wanted to love Jesus from the time she was a little girl.
That little child, just a poor baby, is the King of the Universe and my Savior! Praise God!
I hope when I am very old I can look back at my life and say the same thing...
Please listen to this wonderful interview with Father Gabriel Waweru, a Catholic priest from Kenya, serving in a parish in Northern Minnesota.
