Read, Pray, Listen
- Read, ponder, tell me about YOUR day. I welcome your comments and read them all. I only re-post positive, helpful comments.
The Third Sorrow of Mary occurs when Jesus is lost for three days and found debating with the elders in the Temple of Jerusalem. What did she experience? What would any mother experience? Worry. Fear. Guilt. When she and Joseph finally found Jesus, his answer was enigmatic: "Didn't you know I had to be in my Father's house?" Mary didn't understand at the time. She pondered it in her heart. Certainly those three days were miserable for her and Joseph.
So when we pray BIG, we pray for all the mothers and fathers everywhere in the world who have lost a child. Perhaps their child was kidnapped and never recovered. Perhaps a divorced spouse has taken the child away. Perhaps the child has run away, or a grown child has cut off communication. When mothers and fathers are separated from their children it is a huge grief. We can pray for ALL of them when we pray this Sorrow. God knows who they are and Mary understands their feelings. Jesus knows every situation, every heart, every missing child. He knows every mother and father, every family that grieves and is afraid. He wants to bring comfort, hope, and peace.
Pray for EVERYONE who is missing a child. Ask our Blessed Mother to pray with you, for all of them, every one in the whole world who has a missing child, and for those missing children too. During Lent especially, offer prayers for all who suffer.Pray BIG. Go boldly to the throne of God.
