Read, Pray, Listen
- Read, ponder, tell me about YOUR day. I welcome your comments and read them all. I only re-post positive, helpful comments.
St. Paul tells us to pray without ceasing. How do we do it? Here’s a suggestion. Next time you’re driving in the car by yourself, or riding the bus, or sitting on the train, imagine Jesus sitting next to you. Tell Him about your day. Where are you going? Why are you going there? What do you hope to accomplish? Jesus cares about business deals, grocery shopping, picking kids up from school or ballet lessons. That bit of time, alone with Jesus, can make a big difference in our day if we take advantage of it.
,Are you worried about anything? Talk to Jesus. Are you having a hard time forgiving someone? Tell him! Are you angry, or jealous or exhausted? Ask Jesus to help. Did you mess up at home, or at work - with your spouse or a friend or co-worker? Did you yell at your kids? Tell Jesus you’re sorry. He’s right there with you and he’s listening.
If you’ve got a long commute, don’t waste it. Pray the rosary or the Divine Mercy chaplet for a specific intention. Seize that time in the car, on the bus or train, that time when you might otherwise feel hassled and in a hurry or just a little ticked off at other drivers. Use that time to talk to Jesus. He is listening. He is near.
Do you need prayer? I'll pray for you.
